Itinerary

 

Sunday

 

Today we will take a picturesque journey to our hotel before enjoying our first evening meal together.

 

Monday

 

Our first visit today is to Compton Acres, the South’s finest privately owned gardens with a unique series of stunning gardens and spectacular views. Compton Acres has 10 acres of beautiful gardens and is now highly regarded as one of the most important historic gardens in the UK.

 

In the afternoon  we will visit Dorchester. Dorchester is the delightful county town of Dorset sitting on the banks of the River Frome. This thriving market town has famous connections with novelist and poet Thomas Hardy, the Tolpuddle Martyrs and Roman Britain. Here you will find charming cafes and shops a well as impressive architecture, museums and gardens.

 

Tuesday

With its bustling historic quayside, beautiful beaches and stunning natural harbour, nearby Poole is a wonderful town to discover. We include a visit to Poole Pottery before having time to explore the attractive Quayside waterfront which offers views across the harbour and is lined with stylish old buildings, old pubs and small shops. The waterfront museum also tells the history of the port. Then take a fantastic lunch cruise around Europe’s largest natural harbour and along the beautiful coastline to Swanage to join the award-winning Steam Railway for a unique journey through magnificent Purbeck countryside.

 

Wednesday

 

We will spend today in beautiful Bournemouth. Bournemouth is one of the nation’s best loved seaside resorts renowned for its seven miles of golden sand and sparkling sea. It is a lovely destination with its outstanding coastline, acres of colourful parks and floral gardens, excellent shopping and all year round entertainment. It remains high on the list of the top resorts to visit in the UK, and offers something for everyone whatever your interests. With long, level promenades and a pedestrian shopping precinct area, Bournemouth is an ideal resort to visit at any time of the year.

 

Thursday

 

After enjoying our final breakfast together we will make the leisurely journey home to Brighton with a comfort stop on route.
