Romney Hythe& Dymchurch Railway

Romney Hythe& Dymchurch Railway

Opened in 1927 as the worlds smallest railway running from Hythe to Dungeness.

Opened in 1927 as the 'Worlds Sallest Public Railway', this 15 gauge line runs from Hythe to the fishermans cottages, power station and the lighthouse at Dungeness.  It's an enjoyable way to see the eerie shingle reaches of Dungeness and flat landscape of Romney Marsh.

We drop you off at New Romney, the halfway point, and your ticket lets you travel on the trains as much as you want.  There are gift shops and refreshments at several stations, and the Light Railway Cafe at Dungeness Sation serves a full menu - famous for it's local fish & chips.
