Visit the summer house retreat that was built for Queen Victoria & Prince Albert and get an intamate insight into their private lives.

Dive into Queen Victoria's family life as you walk through her private rooms and the nursery.  The Royal Apartments - the drawing and dining rooms and the Indian - inspired Durbar Room are magnificent.

Enjoy stunning views across the solent and wander down to Queen Victoria's Beach where she bathed and where her children learned to swim. 

There are four restaurants and cafe's, a picnic area and well stocked shop.

Food & Drink. 
  • THE TERRACE RESTAURANT.

    Spoil yourself in our waiter-service Terrace Restaurant, set within Queen Victoria’s magnificent private chapel. Whether you take high tea or treat yourself to lunch, we pride ourselves on our seasonal menu which is always bursting with dishes that showcase the best of English cooking and local produce.

  • THE PETTY OFFICERS' QUARTERS CAFE.

    Whether visiting Osborne or not, our café in the visitor centre is open to all. We have a fantastic selection of light lunches, soups, snacks and cakes, and a wide range of hot and cold drinks.

  • THE GAZELLE HOUSE.

    Hunt down the Gazelle House in the Swiss Cottage gardens and choose from a small but perfectly formed selection of drinks and snacks, including Beatrice cakes, inspired by a 19th century recipe and named after Victoria's youngest daughter.

  • THE PAVILION BEACH ICE-CREAM PARLOUR.

    Indulge in an ice-cream on Queen Victoria’s private beach. Our parlour serves the Isle's famous Minghella Ice-Cream, and is the perfect place to soak up the sun with a sorbet or kick back with a Knickerbocker Glory.

TOILETS.

  • Male and female toilets are situated at the admissions centre, main house, at the beach and at the Swiss Cottage. Baby changing facilities are also available. Disabled toilet, with ramp access, located at admissions point and main house, Swiss Cottage and the beach. The beach toilets are located in the café. Fancy a paddle? Changing facilities are available at the back of the café or directly from the footpath leading from the minibus drop off point.

GARDENS.



  • Benches and rest points are dotted throughout the grounds.
